President’s Letter

A warm welcome to all my fellow Murray Lakers!

I think we have all heard the saying “If you’re lucky enough to live on a lake you are lucky enough” a statement that rings true with me. We are lucky to live on a beautiful body of water called Murray Lake! Not only does the lake provide us with a wondrous vista of sunsets, sunrises, wildlife, and of course the many lake activities but it also provides a conduit for all of us to become not just neighbors but a “neighborhood”. A neighborhood of friendly people all enjoying the lake in their own ways, whether getting cooled off floating in Cocktail Cove, tossing in a fishing line hoping for that big fish, slowly cruising around the shoreline giving and getting some friendly waves, or maybe being more active tubing, skiing, or wakeboarding. We all use and share this wonderful asset, please keep that in mind and remain courteous to our fellow neighbors.

The Murray Lake Association was founded to develop civic and community interest among our residents. Your board uses this statement as a guiding light when we coordinate and sponsor events. We try to stay informed on local issues that affect the lake and share this information in an unbiased manner to keep our fellow residents informed. We try to have events that can inform, like our annual meeting in May where we include speakers on current events. We also have events that promote having fun and meeting more of your lake neighbors like the Poker Run, Garage Sales and Chili Cook-off to name a few. We continue to poll our members to include activities that you want!

Our association would not survive without the dedication and hard work of your board members, through their hard work and efforts we are developing a dynamic website that will provide you, our members, with the most up to date information. We could not run the 4th of July parade, Poker
Run, Chili Cook-off or any of the newly added events such as Octoberfest and the Kids’ Fishing Tournament without help.

These events lean on many volunteers outside of the board and I extend a heartfelt thank you to all
of them. I ask that all of us as lake residents to get involved with the MLA and your community. Also, please remember to pay your dues, it takes both labor and money to run the association!

With your help with can change this saying to “If you’re lucky enough to live on Murray Lake you truly are lucky enough!”
